The versatility of the Petra
enables me to train at any number venues. Kingsbury Water Park is my
prime training location, a mixture of road and shale paths it
provides a good setting for long training runs. Likewise the
occasional visit to the Derbyshire trails is another opportunity to
get the miles in.
The undulating and
multi-terrain environment of Sutton Park I use for base training.
While at weekends the perimeter road in the private grounds of a
local college is ideal for quick tempo runs. Track sessions are
structured to suit the requirements of forthcoming events.
All weather training is a
must yet I especially enjoy training in the Autumn/Winter.
Training is now geared
towards taking it up another level and looking at ways of improving
the Racerunner.
Apart from the Race Running I
also weight train, which I have maintained for the past 20+ years.
The benefits from weight training and other pieces of fitness
equipment have been well worth the effort, especially in terms of
strength and improved co-ordination. Core and upper body strength
have definitely assisted my pursuit of Race Running.
